All Hail Google

Google fudge cakes

Google fudge cakes

Google is taking over the world. Just look at the picture above, don't they look like urinal toilet cakes? Google wants to be in our toilets too! Check out the services Google offers, and mind you it's expanding faster than you can say "char kway tiao 1 plate". Gmail is god send. Google Earth makes you feel like a super secret agent. I don't use the rest, and so have no idea how useful they are.
Google quarterly sales surged past $2bn on 18 April 2006. That is an indication on how well it is doing.

Of Musky Smells

I'm freezing my ass off as I type this. Miss J is doing her pro bono research whilst I soak in the musky smells of ancient books before they are all gone( from NUS campus that is). Come 1st July, the library will be shifting to its new home in Bukit Timah.

Attempts on reading a book failed quite miserably when the eyelids refuse to co-operate. So out came the laptop for mindless surfing.

Had one hell of a scare. My computer for some reason did not display the 'Start' button and task bar when Windows starts. Found a programme which restalled it. It has some nifty functions too. You can download and read about it here.

lazy laziness lazy-dom

Days have been really lazy. Wake up at 4-ish, 5-ish. Sleep at 6.

Nocturnal activities include piracy watching downloaded materials, warcraft and household chores. Come next month, glueing to the tv screen would be included in the list. *Hot tip* Wager a small amount on the underdog team for the opening match. Who could forget 4 years back when France unceremoniously crash to Senegal. My hundred bucks went out of the window. I still have that betting slip somewhere. Damn.

Went to Ministry of Sound on Sat with Miss J and her visiting friends. They're cool. With loads of money to burn. Saw lao hiao aunties dancing so so so energetically. Puts most of us kiddos to shame. God knows how they're like in their heyday. And there's the Bhangra dancing Indians, who for some damn reason think whistling loudly is cool. The coconut trees ain't going to appear deh. Who can forget the white guys and asian spg combi. Soft porn on the dance floor. Good entertainment though. Their jeans better be authentic Levi's cos I sense a rapidly expanding bulge.

Ain't really a fan of the clubs these days. Everyone is getting old. I just wanna go to a bar, chill and people watch.

And of course be a voyeur of those bulges.

Packing Woes

The time of the year. Evacuating the room and packing. When you have two individuals who have totally different packing styles, you know it's going to be a long afternoon. It didn't take long for all the lovey dovey to turn into animosity.

"No! Don't put it there!"

"Clear the rubbish!"

"We need to work faster!"

"Shouldn't you pack this way?"

Sweat, humidity, dust, mess, all the right ingredients for a mean dose of irritance. Thankfully there weren't any sharp objects around. I swear we would get to each others' necks in no time.

When all is done, you go for a good meal.

Place: IndoChine Empress Place.
Location: Waterfront, overlooking the Singapore River.
Cuisine:
Refined IndoChinese cuisine, including Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian specialities. Basically, a modern fusion take on IndoChinese food.
Verdict: Great ambience. Food gave the tastesbuds quite a good workout. You could almost smell the Mekong River. Overall, a very pleasant meal albeit slightly pricey.

I love the animosity. It's through animosity you know someone better.

living la vida loca

The ol man has great foresight. He went overseas on the day i finished my exams. That can only mean one thing. The tau-you-te-ka(pig's trotters in black sauce) for a week odd!

The agenda for the past few days? Food hunting and running errands. Food is my opium.

Some random happenings in the course of the week:

  1. I farted during my Making Sense of Society paper, when it was dead silent. Thankfully, it was odourless.
  2. Ironing and packing. Miss J wants me to give away 20% of my T-shirts. Not a chance!
  3. Worker's Party rally at Tampines.
  4. Took a certain party's poster off a lamp post.
  5. Bbq at ECP only to see a bunch of white wearing maniacs cycling and shout PAP.
  6. Timberlux Flea market.
  7. First time at the polls.

Give me a lift to stop every level of my house!
